Policy Positions
Laws I want passed
The following is an assortment of laws I'd look to pass.
- Raise Minimum Wage Immediately, make 32 hours a week fulltime, tie minimum wage to the inflation rate to keep pace with costs.
- Marginal Tax rate of 90% on anyone making over One Million a year, lower taxes on those under One Million, also end property tax for homes/farms, why should you have to pay after you own your property?
- Medicare/Soonercare for all, including vision and dental.
- Retirement age is lowered to 60, especially government.
- Universal Basic Income, $2,000 a month for anyone making under $32,000 a year, to help lift those out of the poverty threshold.
- NO BOOK BANS ALLOWED IN OKLAHOMA.
- Oklahoman renters are guaranteed Air Conditioning.
- Every Threat is Credible Act - Make an act that would force law enforcement to investigate threats made online, would allow protective orders to be made without needing the offender's address, letting a phone number be used instead so that they may receive their notice, and would not allow law enforcement to state they "can't do anything because there's been no crime", why should a person have to be a victim of violence first before being able to protect themselves?
- Make it illegal for local police, investigators, or government to keep a database for peaceful protestors, only obtaining information if a crime has been committed, also end qualified immunity for law enforcement in Oklahoma.
- Move to repeal HB 1674, allowing people to run over and injure or kill protesters, it is your first amendment right to gather and use your free speech to protest injustice where you see fit, this allows psychopaths an excuse.
- End the requirement for permits for any protest, a permit can be denied and as such would deny one's first amendment rights of speech and congregation, there should be no restrictions to our constitutional rights for peaceful assembly.
- No more lobbyists in Oklahoma, and no stock trading allowed for anyone working for the Oklahoma House, Senate, or the Governor.
- Domestic Violence victims fund established to help those trying to escape abuse.
- Privacy in healthcare, no more legislation on our bodies, let us have autonomy, as well as codify abortion access in the Oklahoma Constitution.
- Make bereavement leave a minimum of one to two weeks, NOT three days. A person's life can't be summed up in three days so how could one grieve in only three?
- End Gerrymandering in Oklahoma, dirt don't vote.
- Teachers get pay raises, expanded benefits, and schools get more funding, free breakfast and lunch for all children.
- Make the "Pink Tax" illegal in the state, there is no reason an item coloured pink costs up to 51% more than a blue one.
- End child labour and child marriage.
- End attendance point systems for workplaces, life happens and people should not lose their livelihood because they caught the flu.
- Have designated areas for free community gardens in every town/city with an app/website to let you know your local garden(s).
- Make therapy more affordable or free for the population.
- Businesses cannot overcharge for a product, implement real price control so the consumer is not stolen from.
- Privacy from government enshrined on our devices.
- Servers get minimum wage.
- Workers rights and Unionization rights enshrined.
- More education available for free for adults, with no shame, some people need help later on to learn things they may have missed.
- Make Ice raids unconstitutional in Oklahoma itself, we do not need to hinder our workforce, and undocumented workers never receive Social Security, but: "Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022. Most of that amount, $59.4 billion, was paid to the federal government while the remaining $37.3 billion was paid to state and local governments." Source.
- Daily Pay Made Available.
- City Officials cannot give themselves a raise without voter approval.
- Transparency audits for all Government and College Campus spending.
- Annual raises, or cross level raises when implemented.
- Felons get their right back to vote after freedom and parole.
- Voter registration is automatic and voting days are paid holidays.
- Stop the participation of Daylight Savings.
- "Shrinkflation" must be posted on labels or just made illegal.
- Corporate Taxes Increased and they stop living off government subsidies.
- Instant skippable ads, give us our time back, and no pop up ads. Being assaulted by messages as you enter a website, streaming service, application, video game, including mobile games, is disconcerting to say the least. So, no more pop ups! Let us get to our content instantly, and limit the noise level and quality of the ads be equal to that of the content being interrupted.
- Have all phones have a "minor" option during setup to restrict children's access to adult content and harmful apps on the device, also automatically turn on location services for the parent to see(can be turned off).
- Restrict access of AI from children's use, no more chatGPT or OpenAI, it's harming our youth, there's no critical thought being utilized from asking a robot any question received, also a set of rules implemented to direct people to mental health services if concerning questions are being asked or if it is being used for a therapist, additionally, provide resources for common interest groups detected when it is being used too often as a companion.
- AI generated videos must clearly be labelled and have a watermark, especially with disinformation on the rise.
- Unsolicited pictures of a sexual nature will be punishable, and have a toll free text line established to report offenses more readily and easily.
- Write legislation to stop police from destroying the property of the unhomed, they're already at their lowest point.
- End private prisons in Oklahoma, no one should be making money off of someone's penalty they're serving.
- Recreational and decriminalization, tax it and free non violent offenders.
- Online services cannot charge more without improving experience or adding services, anything sold in Oklahoma must have an unsubscribe button on their website that allows one click cancellations, they are not allowed to mandate phone calls or emails for cancellations for products or services.
- Stop the invasive and unsafe request of ID for adult sites, the websites have been hacked and will be again, there is no reason to peak into someone's bedroom. It's weird and government overreach.
- Food/delivery services discounts must include the taxes and fees, app based services must pay for insurance for drivers.
- Net Neutrality, internet service providers cannot discriminate on services or throttle speeds, they cannot play favorites and shape the internet for the user, would also have stipulations that no Oklahoman is censored on any platform.
- Right to repair for all purchased items, from electronics, to vehicles, to appliances, all manuals would need to include each replaceable part and a resource to buy it from, be it third party or otherwise.
- Create a law that would ban reselling of any sealed item within five years of it's release date above the MSRP, scalpers need to get jobs and stop emptying shelves to pay bills and actually contribute to the economy. This would not target food services/vendors.
- Create an act that would allow Oklahoma to ignore Federal instructions if they were to harm the population be it through our local economy or sending us to wars we didn't ask for.
